BOOK XXVI
|
35 |
At present, we offer the Book of resurrection to the humble, to the humiliated, to the rejected, to the blacks, so that the masters become slaves and the slaves become masters.
"The gift of God must no longer be offered to the sated who reject it, but rather to the hungry who expect salvation from it." |

You were without a Book, without a prophet and without Scriptures, and you languished like the dregs of humanity. God sends you the jewel of his crown and the pearl of his treasure, for there you are, humble among the humble and poor among the poor. Shall you not receive them with enthusiasm and love, and shall you not live in a holy way before him? |
