BOOK XXXX

There is a place for silver where it is extracted, for gold, a place where it is purified.

JOB

VÉNÈRE ITU THE MELTING

1 I shall go to you, my hands full of your grapes and my back bent under the weight of your harvest, and my joy shall be to receive your kiss of life and to communicate it to the children you have entrusted to me, oh, Lord! who rewards holy obedience. 1' I shall go to you, with purified heart and clear spirit in your resurrected body, if you send me your salvation from this world, Lord of true love and knowledge; for only your splendour is received by your splendour, and only your holy unity melts into the Unique One.

2 Oh, Lord of freedom! give us the supreme intelligence that is obedience to your holy will, so that your creation be subjected to us through the love we have for it, as we are subjected to you through the love you have for us. 2' Oh, Lord of foundation! give us the almighty faith that coagulates and dissolves your holy light of life, so that we may be established as lords and faithful guardians of your marvellous creation in the eternity of your glory.

3 Go, take the Book of the final warning and preach to the world that falls asleep in its filth, for the hour is approaching when its time shall end, and it has already begun without anyone realizing it. 3' Go, take the Book of the last chance and preach my coming while begging for your earthly life, for nothing belongs to anyone here below any longer, but nobody knows it yet.

4 Let us remember the misdeeds that we commit, and let us forget those that we suffer. 4' Let us remember the kind deeds done to us and let us forget those we do.

5 Alas! those that have taken charge of guiding the believers do not penetrate their own Scriptures and they no longer hear their own Lord, for they have become like blind and deaf civil servants, locked away in dead regulations and abandoned by the Holy Spirit that they hate above all else. 5' How shall they reply on the day of judgement when they are asked once more for the talent they have buried? Their excessive prudence has become like the worst ignorance, the worst cowardice and the worst death. They have also seized the keys to God's science and, having failed to penetrate it, they now prevent others from entering it.

6 At present, we are experiencing the cruel truth of the lordly word, and we see those who have taken charge of transmitting the word of God, burying it and sitting upon it, in case a curious one wants to examine it too closely. 6' All the wealthy in money, in honours, in diplomas, in qualifications, in sciences, in castes, in ranks, in positions and in occupations are prevented through pretension and through pride from receiving and penetrating the revealed word of God.

6" They subtly corrupt God's word through their petty judgements, others scorn it openly in the world and all bend it more or less adroitly according to their interests at the time.

7 The idols of this world seem to satisfy those that serve them and those that flatter them, but in reality they devour their most intimate substance which is their soul, and they offer death to their worshippers as a final reward. 7' We shall go to the humble, the poor, the disinherited, the abandoned, the ignorant, the simple, the small, the vagabonds, the oppressed and the crippled, so that they be made rich, liberated, honoured, instructed, cured and resurrected in the Lord who is coming.

8 Those who have established themselves in the blind and deaf letter of the revealed Scriptures can no longer receive anything from the deep and the high, for their pride prevents them from accepting anything from the Holy Spirit that teaches humble and open hearts. 8' After having ignored us, repelled us, buried us, rejected us, condemned and held us in contempt, the rightthinking ones shall pillage us shamelessly, without recognizing us.
"Mediocrity and cowardice steal the outer layer, but they do not receive the hidden almond."

9 We shall blindly and stupidly observe the counsels of the master who tells us to pray for our enemies and to bless our persecutors, to love, to help and to bear others and ourselves, not to judge and not to condemn, to ask for our life from God every day and to thank him and praise him for this inestimable gift, forgiving everyone and doing good in secret without concerning ourselves too much with the affairs of the world. 9' We shall follow the Lord's word blindly and stupidly so that our blind and deaf reason is not an obstacle to the accomplishment of works of faith, so that our superficial judgement does not deprive us of the fruits of works of faith, and so that our fallen intelligence does not drag us into the sordid battle of brutish beasts that never ends.

10 Oh, terror, oh, sadness! the world has killed indiscriminately the nonbelievers, intelligent or stupid, scholarly or ignorant, for they all reject the Book as a useless and futile thing, after having cast a blind glance over it or after having heard it without understanding it. 10' The curse they have brought upon themselves through their denial and abandonment of God becomes still heavier with their insane vanity, and here they are blind and deaf to the word of life. Their brutishness condemns them more and more without their realizing it, and their false self-assurance leads them to the grave.

11 As for the "right-thinking ones" who have emasculated and killed the word of God in order to preserve it, the living revelation that is offered to them once again frightens them and makes them run away, just as the light makes the cockroaches go back under the blind stone. 11' They are incapable of discerning the true from the false, the beautiful from the ugly, the good from the bad, life from death, and they need qualified and licensed counsellors, as blind and deaf as themselves, to guide them in their conceited darkness.

12 We shall rejoice in our holy reward. 12' And they shall howl like beasts, without even understanding what is happening to them.

13 Those that reject us shall be rejected on the day of judgement. 13' And those who bury us shall be buried forever.

14 Our triumph in God shall be so dazzling that the damned shall wonder by what miracle they did not hear our voice. 14' Those we love the most are those who love God and his marvellous creation the most, for are we not child and assistant of God?

15 Those who love the ancient revelation shall also love the new one. 15' Those who understand the new revelation shall also understand the ancient one.

16 Many shepherds have goodwill, but they have lost the salt of wisdom, and the most instructed among them no longer know it except through symbols and hearsay, without knowing what it truly is. 16' Happy are they who remember that the Lord was born in a humble stable, blessed are they who rediscover his footsteps in this world, and most blessed are they who once more give him warmth like wise donkeys.

17 If we are ignored and rejected by the world because of our quest for God, it is because a great reward is reserved for us, but few know this. 17' The angels of God mount a vigilant guard around those that are promised salvation, so that they do not go astray amid the illusory possessions of this suffering world.

18 Many are intelligent and many are reasonable according to the blind and deaf world, but very few possess the divine Spirit that alone enlightens and instructs about the word of God, who teaches the science of eternal life. 18' We are not in fashion, and the intelligent and scholars of the world deliberately ignore us, or look down on us sniggering or pityingly. One day we shall also ignore them, in spite of their howls like hunted down beasts.

19 The more pressing and numerous my advances towards you have been, says the Lord God, the more total and definitive shall be my refusal on the day of judgement if you did not receive them at the time or recognize them in your hearts. 19' You shall bite your fingers and your tongue, and you shall tear apart one another in the confusion and rage of your blind and deaf darkness, on learning of your own stupidly chosen sentence.

20 As for you, the blessed of my heart, who have respected my law, observed my commandments and accomplished my work, you shall be dressed in new clothes and you shall wear my glory for eternity, and your joy shall never end, says the silent Judge. 20' Your surprise shall be dumb, but then your praises and your songs of victory shall cover up even the noise of hell where the damned shall rot, and you shall live in the gratitude of my love without ever tiring, says the Lord of justice and forgiveness.

21 The disdain that the world shows us is our safeguard. 21' The attention we pay to God's creation is our rescue.

22 Our great intelligence and our subtle malice distance us from God's salvation as surely as the stupidity and coarseness of the brutes established here below. 22' On seeing you, Lord, we shall fall to the ground, on hearing your voice we shall roll around in joy, on smelling your odour we shall draw ourselves up, and with your kiss you shall pass into us, and we shall live in you forever.

On that day, the deaf shall hear the words "of a Book" and, on coming out of the darkness and obscurity, the blind shall see.
